Sombrero Festival - the annual Sombrero Festival in Washington Park. This 3-day event opens on the last Thursday of February each year. Food, events, and lots of music. Please click on the Sombrero Festival logo above for more information.

Mr. Amigo Association - choosing Mr. Amigo each year, Hands Across the Bridge ceremony, Walk of Fame ceremony, Una Noche en Garibaldi, Taste of La Frontera, Saturday Morning Brunch & Parade Watch Party. The organization also awards scholarships and now hosts an annual golf tournament.
Who is Mr. Amigo and how are they chosen?
Mr. Amigo is an honoree that is selected annually by a committee composed of past presidents and the current president of the Mr. Amigo Association. The individual must be a Mexican national who has demonstrated a significant positive impact on their community or society, serves as an exemplary role model, and embodies the values and mission of the Association—promoting goodwill and strengthening the relationship between the United States and Mexico.
Can we submit suggestions for future Mr. Amigos?
While the selection of the annual Mr. Amigo is ultimately made by a designated committee, the organization welcomes and encourages suggestions from the public for future honorees.
Does Mr. Amigo offer Membership or VIP?
At present time, the Mr. Amigo Association does not offer Membership or VIP outside of our Board and Officers, however, we are exploring the idea and hope to have a framework out in the near future. Please feel free to reach out with any suggestions you might have, or thoughts on what you would want membership or VIP to look like.
How do I get involved with Mr. Amigo?
Reach out to any member of the Board of Directors to let your interest be known. There will be plentyy of opportunities to volunteer at Mr. Amigo events through the year. Impressive work as a volunteer can lead to further opportunities.
How do I become an officer with Mr. Amigo
The Mr. Amigo Association is restructuring this year in order to grow our numbers and create additional opportunities for the public to get involved. Impressive work as a volunteer/contributor to the association will help ensure you are on the radar of our Board of Directors for when Officer positions come up.
Is your headquarters available for rentals?
Our headquarters is currently under construction and will be available for rental not long after completion.
